Algeria Dubai
For the World Expo in Dubai 2020 (postponed to 2021-2022), MCW Creative Agency was asked to create an interactive table for The Algerian Pavilion. With this interactive table, visitors can view various animations about Algeria, providing them with more information about logistics, energy, and the internet within Algeria.
My task was to design a foundation for these animations about Algeria. I started with creating a map of Algeria using maps of surrounding continents such as Africa and Europe. I merged these maps and then edited them to match the client's requested style. After that, I worked on the rest of the interface for the table. I ensured that the buttons were of the correct size, which was quite tricky because the final screen is over 3 meters tall, so I had to carefully determine the appropriate button size.
Finally, I created variations that fit the story that needed to be told, such as adding windmills or suns. I eventually handed over these designed screens to my colleague, Glenn Krijgsman. He created the final animations for this project. Through good communication, continuous experimentation, and design efforts, the final interactive table turned out to be amazing, and it was on display at the World Expo in Dubai. The client was very satisfied with the final result.
